Megan Thee Stallion is in need of a “real break” after splitting from Klay Thompson after nearly a year of dating.
“I have made the decision to end my relationship with Clay. Trust, loyalty, and respect are non-negotiables in a relationship for me, and when those values are compromised, there is no real path forward,” Megan told Page Six in a statement.
“I am using this time to prioritize myself and move forward with peace and clarity.”
The “Viper” rapper announced the breakup news after accusing Klay Thompson of cheating in a scathing social media post on Saturday.
“Cunning, made me play house with the whole family…’I was cold,'” she wrote.
“During basketball season, I’ve been holding you down with your terrible mood swings and treatment of me. Now you don’t even know if you can be ‘monogamous’?”
“Bitch, I need a real break after this. Bye,” she finished.
The couple seemed to be on good terms until just a few months ago.
In February, the “Hot Girl Summer” hitmaker revealed that the basketball star spent quite a bit of money on lavish gifts for his 31st birthday, including a tropical vacation and a $200,000 Bentley.
In a carousel of photos she shared on Instagram, Megan showed off some memories from her vacation in the British Virgin Islands.
“Oh my god I wasn’t ready for this birthday trip to end 🥹 It was definitely an amazing time 🏝️🍹🥳 Thank you baby ⚓️,” she captioned the Instagram post.
The post has since been deleted from her Instagram account.
In October, the couple teased that they were taking the next step in their relationship by buying a home together.
Megan was first linked to the Dallas Mavericks star in July, after eagle-eyed fans noticed Thompson casually appearing in the background of one of her sexy social media snaps.
Later that month, Megan gushed to Page Six about her “kind” boyfriend during her red carpet debut at the Pete & Thomas Foundation’s inaugural gala.
“I’ve never been with someone so sweet,” she said of her romance.
“This is the first time I’ve dated a really nice guy and he makes me really happy. I’ve never been with someone like him before and I’m just so grateful that he’s by my side and thinks the same way about me.”
