Mariska Hargitay admitted the Knicks’ stunning come-from-behind victory in Game 4 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday may have been more exciting than her first night with husband Peter Herman.
“I love my husband and our wedding night was amazing and everything was amazing, but it might have been the best night of my life,” the “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” actress told The Hollywood Reporter after the Knicks’ 107-106 victory over the Spurs at Madison Square Garden.
Hargitay, 62, married Herman, 58, in 2004 and they have three children.
Representatives for Mr. Hellman could not be reached for comment Thursday evening.
The Knicks superfan, who was also seen celebrating with Taylor Swift in matching Stevie Nicks shirts after the historic win, spoke about the heartbreaking incident in a statement to the newspaper.
“The game was brutal, we were down 29 points in the first half. But I just want to say, watch this team fight, watch them come back so hard, look at that look in Jalen (Brunson)’s eyes, there are endless life lessons there,” she wrote about the epic game.
“And when OG (Anunoby) comes flying in with his orange and blue cape flowing behind him, it’s just pandemonium.”
Hargitay claimed that this moment “will be replayed over and over again, not just as an epic moment in basketball, but on highlight reels of the greatest moments in sports.”
She confessed: and “Oh my god, I love this team!!!” and “Oh my god, I love this city!!!”
Hargitay is a mainstay courtside fan at Knicks games, with celebrities such as Michael J. Fox, Ben Stiller and Timothée Chalamet in the spotlight as the best-of-seven series heats up between the NBA teams.
While this big win seems to be getting the actress’ attention at the moment, there may be another big event to look forward to in the near future.
Hargitay, a longtime friend of the 36-year-old Life of a Showgirls hitmaker, appears to be facing significant delays in her schedule ahead of Swift’s wedding to Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce.
The actress has a solo appearance in “Every Brilliant Thing” on Broadway, and the show is performed every Friday night.
But an eagle-eyed fan noticed and told Page Six that her show would be canceled on July 3, the very day Page Six exclusively reported in April that Swift was planning to marry Kelsey, 36, in New York City.
Fittingly, Page Six then reported earlier this month that the couple would be wed at Madison Square Garden and that everyone, including Hargitay, has been “sworn to secrecy” about the matter.
