Love on the Spectrum star Paris Kim’s mother Esme has passed away after battling breast cancer.
Kim, who was introduced to viewers on season 3 of the hit Netflix show, wrote about her grief in a heartbreaking Instagram post on Wednesday.
“Everything is becoming a train wreck and I feel like two sides of me are constantly fighting: the sad, lonely girl who lost what was cruelly and unfairly taken away from her at a young age, and the girl who has to stay strong and positive because she can’t give up if she wants to keep moving forward,” she wrote.
“Not all tracks run smoothly,” said Kim, 24.
“Sometimes things get tough and you need another train to carry the weight of the world on your back. 😢🕊️,” she wrote.
“It’s hard to keep chugging along when your guardian engine reaches the end of the track, but you have to keep going, even without her.”
Kim also commented on her own post, saying, “F—k gun button.”
Kim then shared a message of gratitude to her parents on Instagram to her followers.
“If you still have parents and they love and care for you, be grateful and know how lucky you are!” she posted. “Time is precious and I never expected to lose them at such a young age!”
Kim’s father, Henry Kim, passed away in October 2020. According to his obituary, he died suddenly.
He was 55 years old.
Esme passed away at the age of 61 after battling stage 4 breast cancer, Netflix confirmed to the US Sun. Esme was shown battling cancer while filming the show.
Sharing her mother’s story, Kim said, “She is currently suffering from breast cancer, but is undergoing treatment, so I hope she will be able to rest for a while.I hope that with my positive attitude, I can help her mother stay strong.”
Kim fell in love with Tina J.C. Caruso on “Love on the Spectrum,” but revealed on her Instagram Story last month that they had broken up.
