Love on the Spectrum fan favorites Dani Bowman and Aarti Garg have shared their heartfelt reactions to co-stars Abby Romeo and David Isaacman’s recent breakup. And their responses are as thoughtful as their support.
Speaking exclusively while promoting his appearance at Netflix’s comedy festival Netflix Is a Joke, Bowman expressed his sympathy for both Romeo and Isaacman following the news that they had ended their five-year relationship.
“Actually, I also feel kind of sad that Abby and David are breaking up,” the Dunimation Entertainment founder told Page Six’s “Virtual Reality.”
“I’m happy about that, and I understand why David doesn’t want to get married right away. But the most important thing for both of us is that life isn’t a competition. You can take it slow, and I totally understand why. We have different perspectives, but that’s okay.”
The breakup, which was revealed earlier this month, was reportedly due to disagreements over their future, particularly their wedding schedule. While Romeo was eager to take the next step, Isaacman was more hesitant and ultimately the two ended up breaking up despite their deep bond.
Bowman, who is known for her candor and optimism, also offered some words of encouragement directly to Romeo: “And Abby, when one door closes, another one will open.”
Mr. Garg struck a similarly compassionate tone, emphasizing the strength of individuals and their families.
“I know Abby and David and their families are truly wonderful people,” she said. “And even if their journey ends there, they’ll be fine. They’re all great people, and we’re grateful to have them as friends.”
Garg added that authenticity remains important when navigating relationships and life transitions. “As long as they stay true to themselves and are as authentic as Dani and Subodh, I think they’ll be fine. I think they’ll be fine,” she said.
The supportive comments come as Ms Bowman, Ms Garg and her brother Subodh Garg gear up for a major live event celebrating neurodivergent voices in entertainment. The trio is participating in a one-night-only comedy variety show called “Laughs on the Spectrum” that will open the Netflix Is a Joke Fest on May 4th at the Laugh Factory in Hollywood.
Hosted by Bowman and produced by CutSharp Productions, the show will reunite several Love on the Spectrum stars while also spotlighting emerging neurodivergent talent and allies. The event will double as a fundraiser for the Autism and Spectrum Institute in Entertainment and highlight the group’s continued commitment to advocacy and representation.
“Love on the Spectrum” is available to stream on Netflix.
