LeAnn Rimes has revealed she has been diagnosed with “severe” laryngitis and will cancel several upcoming shows.
“It is with great regret that I have been diagnosed with COVID-19, which causes severe laryngitis, and have to reschedule my show for next week,” the 43-year-old singer shared on his Instagram Story on Friday.
“This news was confirmed after a visit to my doctor to examine my vocal cords, so I wanted to share it with you as soon as possible.”
In response to this sad news, Rimes has rescheduled performances in Waukegan, Illinois and Wilmington, Ohio to November 6th and 7th, respectively.
Tickets already sold for the previous date will be carried over to the new date. Refunds are available if you are unable to attend the newly scheduled show.
“It’s heartbreaking to have to schedule these shows, and there’s no place I’d rather be than celebrating with you all next week,” she continued. “But unfortunately, until I can get this under control, it’s out of my hands.”
She concluded by telling her fans that she was “looking forward to seeing them” soon.
The update comes shortly after Rhimes canceled performances in Spokane, Washington, and Seattle scheduled for April 30 and May 1, respectively, citing health issues.
“Due to a serious illness, I will not be able to travel or perform this week,” she wrote on her Instagram Story on Wednesday.
“I am truly heartbroken to have to change my plans. I am so grateful for everyone’s kindness and continued support as I recover,” she wrote.
Just a week ago, Lyme seemed to be in a much better mood. The “Blue” hitmaker shared the highlights of her trip to Mexico with husband Eddie Cibrian to celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary. The couple married on April 22, 2011.
She also posted a special anniversary message to her husband, in which Rhimes alluded to some of her health issues. However, she did not elaborate at the time.
“15 years of loving you. 15 years of making memories. Your love is such a gift. And in light of everything that’s happened this year, I’m making a new vow…menopausal or healthy, with or without teeth…😂,” she joked.
