Larry the Cable Guy is recovering from a recent health scare.
The comedian was hospitalized late Thursday night in Lincoln, Nebraska, where doctors diagnosed him with appendicitis, a representative told Page Six.
He was released from the hospital today and is recovering well, his representative said, adding that he is doing well and feeling much better.
After spending several days in the hospital, Larry, whose real name is Daniel Lawrence Whitney, was released from the hospital on Saturday and is feeling much better at home, the newspaper reported.
TMZ was first to report the news.
According to the Mayo Clinic, appendicitis is an inflammation of the appendix and is often treated by removing the organ.
Larry is best known as a member of Blue Collar Comedy Tour, a comedy troupe featuring Bill Engvall, Ron White, and Jeff Foxworthy that toured from 2000 to 2006.
They also released a documentary film in 2003 and produced a sketch comedy TV series called “Blue Collar TV” that aired from 2004 to 2006.
Larry also voices Mater, the beloved tow truck character in Disney/Pixar’s Cars series, whose films were released in 2006, 2011, and 2017.
In 2021, he competed on Season 6 of The Masked Singer and also starred in Taylor Sheridan’s hit series Yellowstone.
Larry recently opened up about the current state of comedy in the current political climate.
“We live in the United States of America. If someone doesn’t like your performance, don’t go see them perform. It’s that simple,” he told Us Weekly earlier this month.
“I’m not worried about that,” he continued. “I already have a pretty good, built-in following and some great fans as well. You know, if I think it’s interesting, I’m going to do it and let’s see how it goes.”
Larry has been married to his wife Carla since 2005 and they have two children, son Wyatt and daughter Regan.
