Jason and Kylie Kelsey spoke about Taylor Swift’s addition to the family on their podcast this week. While Kylie didn’t say much about Swift and Travis Kelsey’s wedding, she did say how much love there was at the venue. Jason opened up about how Swift’s fame has changed the family’s attention. Kylie also recently discussed the topic on her podcast.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have been out of public view this week, but Travis’ brother Jason Kelce and sister-in-law Kylie Kelce spoke on their podcast about Swift joining the family.
On July 21, Jason joined the Ross Tucker Football Podcast and revealed how his family’s life changed after Swift dated and eventually married Travis. Although he had fans before Swift, he and his family received more attention from people outside the typical soccer fan base.
Jason talked about currently hiring a bodyguard, saying, “I forget which rapper it is, but I’m going to have a bodyguard. It’s not so much to protect me, but to protect me from doing something stupid. And with Dutch, a lot of situations get to a bad level sometimes. And fortunately, nothing really happened. They’re either fans of you or fans of the game or something, so I never expected to have[a bodyguard]. But it’s good to have travel companions. ”
Host Ross Tucker asked if fame came gradually for him. The former Philadelphia Eagles player said, “It was definitely gradual, but when Taylor and Travis started dating, it was obviously like a very big turning point. And that’s when the whole thing, a different demographic and fan base, not only me, but me. And I went from being dominated by big fat men who came up to me and shook my hand and thanked me for being an Eagle. It was quite a change in people becoming fans.”
“I had a really good fan base in Philadelphia,” he said before a podcast with Swift and New Heights’ Travis Kelce, adding that his fan base grew from going to the Super Bowl and his 2018 Super Bowl parade speech.
“[And]obviously when Taylor came on board, it changed like, oh, now we’re in a completely different category,” he continued. “There’s a group of people who are pretty dominant right now. They’re music fans and now all of a sudden they’re into football and they’re interested in family because of that. So it’s definitely been gradual, but at the same time it’s been pretty intense over the last couple of years.”
Kylie Kelce briefly talked about her wedding yesterday on her podcast, Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce. “I want to congratulate Tay and Trav,” she began. “It was really magical. I’m so happy for them. We love them so much. And Taylor has been part of the family for quite some time now, so it just made it official. That’s it.”
She then explained why she wouldn’t share more. “Anything else, please check with Taylor and Travis, because they can share any details they want to share,” she said. “But other than that, it was intimate and incredibly loving, both for each other and everyone else’s love for them.”
On the June 4 episode of her podcast, Kylie herself spoke about the impact fame has had on her family, especially her and Jason’s daughters, who are still young.
“Girls think it’s funny,” she began. “They seem to think it’s funny that when we go out in public people say, ‘Are you Jason Kelsey?'” Then we go back to the house and they say, “Are you Jason Kelsey?” Sometimes I see them playing games without adults being involved, and they start saying, “Oh my god, I’m such a big fan.” Can I take photos? ”
“Yeah,” Kylie continued. “I don’t like that the kids picked up on this. Obviously, they pick up on it when they leave home with their dad. It makes me sad to think this is true…sad to think this is real. We want our kids to have as normal an upbringing as possible. We just try to create some separation as much as we can.”
Kylie also added that daughters sometimes don’t find the attention their parents give them funny. “Wyatt (my oldest daughter, who is 6 years old) sometimes doesn’t like when someone approaches us, talks or looks at us. Recently, Wyatt was staring at a group of young women who were talking loudly across from us. And she looked at them with a really disgusted look on her face and said, “They don’t have a picture with my dad.” So I think most of the time they think that’s funny and interesting, but sometimes they don’t. And I think we should collectively take them out of there, okay? Great, let’s do that. ”
