Kate Middleton and Melania Trump together head out for their first monumental outing

In the historic first, Kate Middleton went out on her own without other senior members of the royal family and hosted first lady Melania Trump for a joint outing.

After Melania toured Queen Mary’s Doll House and the Royal Library at Windsor Castle, the First Lady joined Princess of Wales (43) at Frogmore Gardens. There they met Chief Scouts, Dwaynefields, and members of the Scout Squirrel program.

The women joined the 4-6-year-old group when the children created the artwork. At one table, the children pressed ink leaves against the paper and added illustrations.

“This is beautiful!” The 55-year-old first lady said that when she joined, she filled the bear’s outline with brown markers and added sun and grass with yellow and green markers that the children guided.

Princess Kate sat on the grass nearby and talked with the children about their art. The little girl took Trump’s hand and led her to another table. There, children were building a “bug hotel” out of cardboard and tubes.

“What should I do, what should I do,” Trump said. When I asked her what her favorite bug was, she replied, “Ladybug.”

Princess Kate and the first lady joined the kids in a lively game of parachute filled with parachutes, as the kids scramble and laugh to push them out.

Kate arranged a special lunch for the kids, featuring sandwiches made from honey from the Norfolk home in Anmer Hall. Trump offered her own sweet touch, giving each child a jar of White House honey.

The children then gathered at the straw veil for the scout masters to explain their activities of the day before receiving the “Go Wild” badge presented by Kate and Trump, and congratulations each child with a handshake and applause. Two children then awarded the women badges.

Princess Kate was a child brownie and has been co-president of the Scouts Association since 2020.

In March, Princess Kate joined Fields and other scouts for a visit to the Lake District, and Fields told people she shared how Princess Kate brought her comfort on her cancer journey.

“She said, ‘I spent a lot of time outdoors during my recovery, because that’s where I felt peaceful,’ or, “I and my family come out on the lake as often as possible,” the Chief Scout said.

“When people talk about themselves, they give you something and feel like they’re a little bit away and not just going there, they feel like they’re a little bit away,” he added. “It’s her superpower. She’s a wonderful and warm person and I’ll invite you into a conversation.”

After her engagement, Melania travels to Checker to join President Donald Trump for the rest of the program that day.

The state visit was officially launched at Windsor Castle, a welcoming ceremony at Windsor Castle, a visit to Trumps to visit Queen Elizabeth’s burial site, and an evening banquet where King Charles and President Trump both gave speeches.
