It never ends.
Justin Baldoni has disputed Blake Lively’s latest legal claim, days after breaking his silence about his ongoing legal battle.
On Monday, the actor filed a motion asking a judge to reduce the amount of legal fees demanded by his Seraph of the End co-star, calling it “excessive.”
The filing, obtained by Page Six on Tuesday, claims that “a cursory review of Lively’s filings shows numerous charges involving multiple attorneys appearing at the same hearing, attorneys conferring, consulting, and strategizing, and extremely excessive scrutiny and online research, to say the least.”
Mr. Baldoni’s lawyers went on to argue that Mr. Lively’s $8 million request was “nothing more than a typical compensation claim.”
In June, Mr. Lively sought $7,495,526.87 in attorney fees and $539,514.01 in court costs and costs.
Mr Baldoni’s lawyers slammed the amount, calling it an “extraordinary” amount that should be “completely denied”.
The lawyers noted that The New York Times had previously sought $181,622.70 in attorney’s fees in a “motion to dismiss the very same defamation claim.”
Notably, Baldoni filed a lawsuit against the publication for $250 million in 2024, which was later dismissed, as well as a $400 lawsuit against Lively.
As for Lively’s lawsuit against Baldoni, the two settled in May, avoiding a showdown in front of a judge.
Neither side made a settlement, but a legal battle raged as the “Gossip Girl” alum tried to recoup her fees.
Lively’s representatives did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
The pair have been arguing in court since late 2024, but Baldoni, 42, did not speak publicly about the matter until he posted an Instagram video with his wife Emily Baldoni, with whom he has two children.
“So many hurtful things have been said over the past few years that are not true,” the “Jane the Virgin” alum said in part in last week’s upload. “It made a lot of noise, and we didn’t want to make more noise. So we just wanted to let the justice system take its course.”
Emily, 41, quipped: “The truth and facts speak for themselves.”
Lively handled the situation carefully during last year’s “Another Simple Favor” press tour.
“This year has been the highest highs and the lowest lows of my life,” the 38-year-old said on Late Night with Seth Meyers in May 2025. “There are a lot of women out there who are afraid to speak up, especially now, to share their experiences. The fear is intentional and it’s what keeps us silent.”
The actress, who has four children with husband Ryan Reynolds, added that “no matter what I’m going through,” it’s “Disneyland” for her kids and they have to show up in “the best…chaos.”
