When the Gotham Television Awards ceremony opened in New York City, the atmosphere was somber it was hard to believe it was June. Winners and honorees include Chase Infinity, Michelle Pfeiffer, Kerry Washington, “I Love LA” and “Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette.”
In London, Variety magazine launched a London edition of Power of Women, starring Cynthia Erivo, Hadda Waddingham, and Emma Corrin. Also in the UK, director Steven Spielberg gathered the cast of Disclosure, including Josh O’Connor, Emily Blunt and Colman Domingo, for the film’s world premiere.
And June wouldn’t be June without Pride Month celebrations. Madonna held a surprise concert in New York City’s Times Square to celebrate her gay fans with Grindle.

He collaborated with Grindle to perform songs from his next album, Confessions II, as well as hits from the first Confessions. The spectacle also served as the unofficial kickoff to Pride Month, with Madonna shouting at her gay fans and images of LGBTQ historical figures flashed on the screen.
