Jennifer Aniston has made a rare comment about her ex-husband Brad Pitt’s cameo on Friends, more than 20 years after their divorce.
“When Brad was on, he was so funny,” Lisa Kudrow told Aniston, 57, during an appearance on the variety show “Actors on Actors” on Wednesday.
“I know. How funny,” Aniston added, leading the conversation to other famous cameos on the show.
“The movie stars who were on Friends. Brad, Bruce Willis, Julia Roberts. Isabella Rossellini. Sean Penn, there were a lot of them.”
“They were always nervous, remember? I was always interested in how nervous they were,” Aniston said.
“Yes. I’m nervous. Well, what’s that tone? It’s not theater. It’s made for TV. It’s not a movie. What the heck is this? And that’s a good question. And I remember someone asking me one time. I didn’t know how to explain it, so I said, ‘Oh, speak louder. Same intent, just–‘” Kudrow interjected.
“Louder!” Aniston said.
As fans may remember, Pitt appeared on the 2001 Thanksgiving episode of Friends, titled “Rumored People.”
His character, Will Colbert, was a member of the “I Hate Rachel” club in high school along with Ross Geller, played by David Schwimmer.
Pitt and Aniston (who stars as Rachel Green on the sitcom) were married when this episode was filmed.
The former lovers were married for five years before announcing their divorce in 2005.
More recently, Aniston reflected on their “close” breakup to Vanity Fair last August, saying she found the experience “uncomfortable” due to the media frenzy surrounding the relationship.
“I just remember the experience of doing it. It was unpleasant in a way,” she told the media at the time. “It was also a very vulnerable time. But yeah, it was the right time for a memoir.”
“Journalism back then felt like a kind of sport,” Aniston continued. “Obviously, everyone has some kind of PTSD. That’s why[the interview]scares me.”
