Jana Kramer defended Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s choice to have “gentle” Adam Sandler officiating their wedding at Madison Square Garden.
“Everyone was like, ‘Oh, that’s an interesting choice,'” she said on Friday’s “Whine Down” podcast, referring to the comedian’s role in the star-studded wedding.
“I’ll tell you about Adam Sandler’s work, I met him a million years ago,” the actress recalled. “I did that movie ‘Click’ with him.”
“He’s a really sweet guy and has a sentimental (personality) side, so I can almost understand that now,” she gushed. “He really is, and he’s a good guy. So I found him to be very funny, but also very down-to-earth and sentimental.”
Elaborating on their time together on the set of the 2006 film, the “One Tree Hill” alum said Sandler, 59, “is very intentional when he speaks.”
She claimed that even though the actor seems like a huge personality on screen, he is more “soft-spoken” behind the scenes, which makes him a great host.
“A lot of comedians are supposed to be very crazy and wild people on the outside,[and]he was very soft-spoken,” she explained. “Do you know what I’m saying? Soft and quiet.”
Tree Payne, Swift’s longtime publicist, confirmed to Page Six that the “Grown Ups” star officiated the ceremony at the iconic New York City venue on July 3.
After Sandler and Kelsey shared the screen in the 2025 film Happy Gilmore 2, the newlyweds apparently urged Sandler to take the job.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end made an unforgettable cameo in the comedy film, wearing only an apron and being doused in honey by Bad Bunny.
Swift and Kelsey, both 36, wed in front of a crowd of 1,000, including celebrity friends such as Selena Gomez and Gigi Hadid.
Instead of a traditional bridal party, the bride and groom chose to honor her pop star brother Austin Swift as “man of honor” and her athlete brother Jason Kelce as “best man.”
Since the lavish soiree, the newlyweds made their first public appearance as a married couple on Friday at the wedding of Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster.
