Heather Locklear and an “emotional” Richie Sambora’s reunion at daughter Ava’s wedding over the weekend wasn’t awkward, according to a new report.
The former couple, who broke up 20 years ago, likely hadn’t seen each other for years before the ceremony, the Daily Mail reported on Wednesday.
A guest at the wedding told the magazine that the Bon Jovi member, 66, and his ex-girlfriend, 64, were friendly because Sambora had “always supported[Locklear]not just in their marriage, but even as her ex-husband.”
Officials noted that during Locklear’s previous struggles with addiction, the musician was the one who “hired the best doctors and medical teams to get him the help he needed.”
“He always supported her and was there for her…[and]was the first one to make sure she was okay,” the source added.
Notably, the former lovebirds married in 1994 and welcomed Eva before announcing their separation in 2006. The divorce was finalized the following year.
Locklear looked “solid” and “beautiful” in a navy dress as Eva and husband Tyler Farrar walked down the aisle in Montecito, California.
She attended with her boyfriend Lorenzo Lamas, whom she started dating in late 2025, and the couple sat in the same row as Sambora.
A wedding attendee said: “Richie is a cool cat and Lorenzo is a cool guy. Richie just wants Heather to be happy.”
Sambora brought his “inseparable dear friend” Orianthi as his date to the wedding.
He and the guitarist, 41, dated from 2014 to 2018 and are reportedly “rekindling” their romance.
“She’s going back[to the US]every second and playing with him,” the source claimed.
Orianthi took to Instagram on Sunday to praise the newlyweds, who got engaged in February 2024, writing: “The most beautiful wedding by the most beautiful couple!!! I love you.”
Sambora and Locklear teamed up to walk the bride down the aisle together.
The Grammy winners told People in 2020 that they had reached an amicable co-parenting relationship after a 10-year “cooling off period.”
After her divorce, Locklear was briefly engaged to Melrose Place alumnus Jack Wagner and dated former motocross racer Chris Heisser from 2020 to 2025.
His romance with actress Lamas, 68, first made headlines in April.
