HBO Max has been offering discounts for prepaying for a year of service. Now, the Warner Bros. Discovery-owned service is dangling even bigger price cuts with a new summer promotion.
Starting Thursday (June 18), new and returning HBO Max subscribers in the U.S. will be able to save an additional 28% on a year’s worth of ad-supported Basic, Standard, or Premium plans.
The special discounted annual price for the HBO Max Basic With Ads plan is $78.99. $132.99 for standard plan. The premium plan costs $164.99. After the 12-month period, these rates revert to standard prices (currently $109.99, $184.99, and $229.99 plus applicable taxes, respectively) per year.
With an additional 28% discount, the 1-year special promotional rate is a 40% discount compared to the regular monthly rate. This limited-time offer is available from June 18 to July 15, 2026 to eligible subscribers on HBOMax.com, Amazon’s Prime Video subscription, and Roku Channel.
Eligible subscribers can take advantage of special pricing ahead of the Season 3 premiere of the HBO original drama series House of the Dragon, which debuts on Sunday, June 21st.
Meanwhile, HBO Max is offering a one-year price discount due to the pending merger deal between Paramount Skydance and WBD. Paramount executives have said they plan to combine HBO Max and Paramount+ in some form once the merger is completed, but they have not provided details about what that will mean for customers. The companies said the transaction is expected to close in September 2026, pending regulatory approvals and legal proceedings.
HBO Max is the streaming home for HBO Originals, as well as films from Warner Bros. Pictures, DC Studios, Turner Classic Pictures, A24, and Studio Ghibli. Shows from Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, HGTV, Food Network, TLC, ID, Magnolia Network, Discovery, and TCM. And so on.
HBO Max’s upcoming lineup includes originals like “Lanterns” and “Stuart Fails To Save The Universe,” documentaries like “Earth, Wind & Fire (To Be Celestial vs. That’s the Weight of the World)” and “Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Seattle Seahawks,” and fan-favorite library titles like “Friends” and “The Big Bang Theory.” The streaming service also features critically acclaimed films like Oscar-winners One Battle After Another and Sinners, as well as franchises like IT, The Conjuring, and Final Destination.
