Prime Video has set the world premiere date for ‘Lukkhe’, an eight-episode musical action drama directed by Himank Gaur and produced by Vipul D. Shah and Rajesh Bahl under Optimystix Entertainment and White Guerrilla LLP.
Created and executive produced by Agrim Joshi and Debojit Das Purkayastha, ‘Lukkhe’ is about Chandigarh’s rap culture and street conflicts. The story depicts the conflict between two competing MCs, MC Badnaam and OG, whose feud interweaves themes of revenge, ambition, and growth. The central idea of the series is summed up in the Hindi tagline: ‘Rap aur Badla, Dono Loud Hai’. Broadly speaking, rap and revenge are both loud.
The show’s headliners include Raashi Khanna and rapper-songwriter King, besides Palak Tiwari and Lakshvir Singh Saran. The ensemble cast also includes Nakul Roshan Sadev, Kritika Bharadwaj, Shivankit Parihar who plays rival rapper OG, Yograj Singh and Ayesha Raza Mishra.
“At Prime Video, we believe we can always raise the bar by experimenting with storytelling, whether it’s merging genres, exploring new formats or championing unconventional narratives,” said Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals, Prime Video India. “Lucke strongly reflects this vision, blending uplifting action with driving rap music, while seamlessly balancing pacing and emotional intensity to create a truly unique world. At the heart of the series is a compelling story of revenge and redemption, driven by complex characters and the choices they make.”
“Lukke is a true passion project for us and goes beyond the typical action drama,” added creators and executive producers Agrim Joshi and Debojit Das Purkayastha. “We aimed to create a world where intense action, pulsating rap music, and raw human emotion seamlessly blend together.”
“Lukkhe” will be released exclusively on Prime Video on May 8th. The series will be available in Hindi across India and in over 240 countries and territories.
