Just months after Eric Dane’s death, Rebecca Gayheart reflected on an “incredibly difficult” year as she celebrated her daughter Georgia’s graduation from middle school.

“Congratulations Georgia!!! You graduated from middle school and survived an incredibly difficult year,” Gayheart wrote on Instagram on Saturday, adding a collection of photos from the ceremony.

“I couldn’t be more proud of you. Your tenacity, grit and grace are on full display,” the actress continued.

“Welcome to high school. I’m sure you’re ready. I’m so excited. Not pictured is the beach volleyball MVP trophy. Bravo, congratulations and I love you so much ♥️”

The merry-go-round included a snapshot and video of Georgia Dane, 14, on stage receiving a giant sunflower and a certificate.

Gayheart also posted a photo of himself kissing his younger daughter on the cheek after the graduation event, and a photo of Georgia posing with friends.

In the comment thread, Ellen Pompeo, who co-starred with Georgia’s late father on “Grey’s Anatomy,” paid tribute to the graduate.

“Congratulations Georgia!!! Well done. Mom’s words are perfect!!!” she wrote.

Alyssa Milano, who appeared on Charmed with Dane, commented: “Your daughters are so gorgeous. They’re just like mommy.”

One follower wrote: “Congratulations Georgia 🙌 You overcame a difficult situation and acted with grace and dignity far beyond your years. Your dad will always be there watching over you. Praying for you and the girls Rebecca.”

Georgia’s milestone comes nearly four months after her father passed away on February 19th after a battle with ALS.

Gayheart and Dane called off their divorce while Dane was diagnosed with a serious illness, and the news was revealed in April 2025. They also had a 16-year-old daughter, Billie.

The “Euphoria” actor became an outspoken advocate for those suffering from the condition in the months that followed.

He ultimately passed away in February in Los Angeles at the age of 53, and his family shared the news in a heartfelt statement.

“It is with a heavy heart that we share the news that Eric Dane passed away on Thursday afternoon after a courageous battle with ALS,” the statement said, noting his “passionate” advocacy for “others facing the same battle.”

“He will be greatly missed and will always be remembered with fondness.”

In a heartbreaking pre-recorded video for Netflix’s Famous Last Words, Dane spoke his final words to Georgia and Billy.

“Billy and Georgia, these words are for you,” he said in the video, just hours after his death was announced.

“I tried it. I stumbled at times, but I tried it. Overall it was a lot of fun, you know?” he continued.

He also encouraged his daughters to live “in the moment” and to “get excited about something” that “makes you want to wake up in the morning.”

Finally, he urged Billy and Georgia to “fight and face” life’s challenges with honesty, integrity, and grace, even if they feel or appear insurmountable.

“You can face the end of life. You can face hell with dignity,” he said. “Fight, girls, hold your hearts high.”
