Emily in Paris star Paul Forman has paid tribute to French actor Pierre Denis following his sudden death.
“Heartbroken to hear of the passing of Pierre Deny,” Forman wrote on his Instagram Stories on Wednesday.
“It was a privilege to work with him and see his warmth and talent up close.”
Mr. Forman concluded his message by saying, “My thoughts are with your family and loved ones. May they rest in peace.” The 32-year-old actor included a black and white photo of Denny in his upload.
Denny played Louis de Leon, CEO of the fictional fashion giant JVMA, in seasons 3 and 4 of the Netflix series. Forman plays Louis’ son, Nicolas de Leon.
Last week, before Denny passed away, the show’s star Lily Collins revealed that the cast was filming the sixth season.
“Anne, we’re back and for the last time. @emilyinparis takes on Greece (and of course France) for one last epic adventure. Let’s make this the most incredibly special season yet!” she wrote via Instagram.
The actor passed away on Monday at the age of 69 after a battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
In a statement obtained by the Daily Mail on Wednesday, his daughters said: “It is with deep emotion that we announce the passing of Pierre Denis this Monday following a sudden and severe case of ALS.”
Forman becomes the first of Denny’s co-stars to speak publicly about his death.
Ruth Muschel, who co-starred in “Demain nous apartient,” reflected on Tuesday after his death, saying, “Our short 10 years together shouldn’t have ended so quickly and so cruelly.”
She continued in French: “I’m thinking of your daughters and their extraordinary courage. Rest in peace, Dr. Dumas, thinking of my last visit and your shining eyes 🤍🤍🤍.”
Denny’s death comes amid increased awareness of this debilitating disease. Last week, “90 Day Fiancé” personality Jenny Slatten announced that she had been diagnosed with ALS.
“We cried and hugged each other,” Slatten told PEOPLE of the moment she and her husband, Sumit Singh, learned of the diagnosis.
Previously, in February, Grey’s Anatomy star Eric Dane passed away at the age of 53 after a battle with illness.
Killing Me Softly With His Song hitmaker Roberta Flack died in February 2025 at the age of 88, after being diagnosed with the disease herself in 2022.
