Duchess Kate passed by ex Rupert Finch at Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling’s wedding over the weekend.
Prince Middleton and Prince William attended the wedding in the Cotswolds side by side, cheering on Prince Phillips, a cousin of the Prince of Wales.
The Princess of Wales, 44, stepped out in a beige bouclé Roland Mouret dress, paired with a stylish matching hat and heels, while Prince William wore a traditional morning suit.
Mr. Finch, who arrived with his wife, Mrs. Natasha Rufus Isaacs, also wore a traditional suit. Lady Natasha wore a blue floral dress.
In addition to Prince William and Duchess Kate, Phillips’ sister Zara Tindall and her husband Mike Tindall, King Charles, Queen Camilla, and Princess Anne also attended the ceremony.
Phillips’ wedding, his second since his divorce from Autumn Kelly in 2021 after 12 years of marriage, took place at All Saints Church in the village of Kemble.
Middleton and Finch, 47, dated in 2001 while attending St Andrews.
In fact, when Middleton appeared at the famous fashion show in 2002 (where she reportedly caught the eye of Prince William in a sheer minidress), she was said to have been involved with Finch.
Tatler said that at the time, Finch was her “casual boyfriend, a tall, dark, handsome, aspiring lawyer, in his fourth year at the University of St. Andrews”.
The romance was depicted in the sixth and final season of The Crown, starring Oli Green as Finch and Meg Bellamy as the future Princess of Wales.
The former couple have remained tight-lipped about their past relationships, with Ms Finch once saying: “That’s not for me to talk about. It’s between Kate and me and it happened a long time ago.”
The Prince and Princess of Wales dated for nearly 10 years before getting engaged in October 2010.
The pair married on April 29, 2011 at Westminster Abbey in a lavish royal ceremony attended by Finch.
The couple have since welcomed children Prince George (12), Princess Charlotte (11) and Prince Louis (8).
The couple celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary in April with a sweet post on social media, sharing a casual photo of the family lying on the grass soaking up the sun.
They captioned the photo, “Celebrating 15 years of marriage ❤️.”
Meanwhile, Finch married Lady Natasha in 2013 and they had daughters Georgia Finch in 2015, Sienna Finch in 2017, and India Finch in 2020.
