This year’s son.
Cruz Beckham consoled his father David Beckham after England lost to Argentina in the World Cup semi-finals on Wednesday.
The 21-year-old bent down and hugged the devastated soccer legend in the stands at Atlanta Stadium in Georgia.
Cruz attended the game wearing his father’s iconic England No. 7 jersey, while David, 51, wore a suit and tie.
David, 51, was celebrating and cheering with his wife Victoria Beckham, 52, sons Cruz and Romeo, 23, and daughter Harper, 15, as England led 1-0 against Argentina for most of the match.
But when Argentina scored twice in the closing minutes, David became visibly frustrated and upset, at one point even wiping away tears.
After the match, David called the result “heartbreaking” in an Instagram post.
“Heartbreaking for all but a touching and lasting memory for all of us,” he wrote alongside two photos of the England squad.
He added: “Thank you to our team, our fans and our country for what they gave us at this World Cup @England 🏴و♀️.”
Over the weekend, David attended the England vs. Norway game at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium with Victoria, Cruz, Romeo and Harper.
The famous family was also seen cheering after England beat Norway 2-1 to reach the semi-finals.
David also posted a photo of his family during the match, celebrating England’s big win.
“It was a great moment in Miami. I’m so proud of my team for making it to the World Cup semifinals tonight and celebrating with my family was so special,” he wrote.
David’s eldest son, Brooklyn, was away with other members of the Beckham family and did not attend.
In January, the 27-year-old penned a scathing message on Instagram, slamming his famous parents and accusing them of trying to destroy his relationship with wife Nicola Peltz.
When the World Cup begins, Brooklyn slanders his family with a questionable DoorDash ad in which he gives away tickets to a soccer tournament.
“You’re probably wondering why I’m watching the 2026 FIFA World Cup at home. It’s not like I don’t have tickets,” he said in the ad. “Well, that’s because…it’s a long story.”
Since the scandal, Brooklyn has missed many of the Beckham family’s events, including David’s 50th birthday in 2025 and a low-key Father’s Day celebration last month.
