Film and TV veteran Dan Steinman has joined Gigi Pritzker’s Madison Wells production venture as president and chief content officer.
With him at the helm, Madison Wells is well on its way with high-profile original film, TV and stage work, including Netflix’s “Nonnas,” CNN’s feature-length documentary about New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, “Prime Minister,” and “The Baddest Speechwriter of All,” produced with Stephen Curry’s Unanimous Media. The documentary won the Grand Jury Short Film Award at the Sundance Film Festival and will premiere on Netflix later this year.
“We are excited to welcome Dan as president and chief content officer. His dedication and drive will be invaluable to Madison Wells as we continue to tell impactful stories,” Pritzker said.
Mr. Steinman has served as co-president and chief operating officer of 30 West for the past nine years, helping to envision projects such as the 2017 Margot Robbie film I, Tonya, the 2020 Netflix docuseries sensation Tiger King, 2022’s Triangle of Sorrow, and the new Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas comedy Power Ballad.
“Joining the Madison Wells team feels like a natural next step. Madison Wells’ vision is rooted in the future and focused on how content evolves to meet the moment,” Steinman said.
Madison Wells is involved in financing and production and is an investor in other entertainment ventures including streaming platform Mubi and Breakwater Studios. He has also produced stage productions including recent Broadway musicals “Hadestown” and “Swept Away” and the play “The Inheritance.”
Prior to joining 30West, Steinman served as Co-President and COO of Black Bear Pictures and CEO of Elevation Picture, a Canadian distribution subsidiary. Earlier in his career, he was a senior agent in CAA’s film finance division, where he financed and sold projects such as 2013’s “The Night Is Still Over” and 2010’s “Black Swan.”
