Dan Levy wasn’t buying any of Page Six’s nonsense at Monday night’s Gotham Television Awards ceremony when we asked Page Six a “rhetorical question”: “Can you get any cuter?”

“That’s right, John F. Kennedy Jr. is walking this carpet right now,” he exclaimed, pointing to the burly Paul Anthony Kelly, who played the political heir in Ryan Murphy’s TV series “Love Story.”

Levy, 42, added, “It’s a difficult comparison, but thank you for the compliment!”

Also, when we asked him what it was like to be loved so much, he wouldn’t listen to any of the extended Page Six nonsense.

“What the hell are you talking about?” he retorted, laughing but then becoming a little more serious.

“Listen, I’m not going to answer that, but I’ll just say it’s so great to be able to make some things that people really like,” the actor explained. “And it’s so nice to hear people come up to you on the street and say that the work you made meant something to them.”

Levy co-produced and co-starred in Schitt’s Creek with his father, Eugene Levy. The series, which aired from 2015 to 2020, was loved by many during the coronavirus lockdown, especially for its tender portrayal of the relationship between David and Patrick Brewer’s Noah Reid, culminating in a wedding.

The series won nine Emmy Awards during its sixth and final season, breaking the record for most wins in a single season for a comedy series.

The show also featured Catherine O’Hara, who passed away earlier this year.

Most recently, he co-created and starred in the Netflix series Big Mistakes with Rachel Sennott, in which he plays a down-on-his-luck brother who is blackmailed into working for a gang.

Laurie Metcalf, who plays the mother, won the Gotham Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for her role.

The show has already been picked up for a second season.

Mr. Levy also explained his philosophy towards his work.

“At the end of the day, I want everything I do, everything I strive for, to have a purpose behind it,” he said. “Everything I do is intentional. The fact that it resonates with people? That’s the dream.”
