If anyone’s looking forward to more awards shows after the Oscars, now there’s Snappy’s, the first creator extravaganza by social media giant Snap.
The event, held Tuesday night at the company’s headquarters in Santa Monica, drew hundreds of influencers on the yellow carpet, including JoJo Siwa, Chloe Veitch, Candice Dillard Bassett and Francesca Farago.
Comedian and Snap star Matt Friend was the emcee and even mocked the event by jokingly asking, “What’s next, the Venmo Awards?”

Winners included Creator of the Year David Dobrik, who has 70 million followers, and the Lifetime Achievement Award went to DJ Khaled, 50, who accepted the trophy in a video. Snap CEO Evan Spiegel also appeared in a video with John Stamos.
Harry Jowsey, a 28-year-old reality star turned social media sensation who was there, said of the platform: “Honestly, I wouldn’t be anywhere without Snap. They sent me to the Paris Olympics. They sent me to the White House. They paid my bills, they did so much for me!”
After the final Snappy of the night was distributed, singer Kehlani was scheduled to perform a number of her hits, but Friends announced that unfortunately, Kehlani would not be taking the stage after all as another non-in-person attendee. Despite the disappointment of the finale, the creators were spotted drinking cocktails and high spirits at the afterparty.
Either way, Snap executives said they aim to make this an annual tradition.
