Since 2023, Mr. Cimarron has been a member of the international film and television giant Mediapro Studios, where he is responsible for the studio’s Latin American operations. This news coincides with the opening of an office in Brazil. Frequent collaborator Andres Jeros joins as creative producer, while Catalina Porto takes on the role of creative producer for Cimarrón in Colombia and Mexico.

“Cimarron is one of our most strategic assets in Latin America. Its unique identity, first-class relationships and strong track record allow us to take a decisive step in our expansion throughout the region,” said Marta Ezpeleta, CEO of Mediapro Studio.

The move comes after the departure of Daniel Berman, director of Officina Berman and one of the creative driving forces behind MediaPro Studios in Latin America, who was appointed head of original content Disney+ LATAM earlier this year.

“With the experience of the team led by Santiago López, Diego Lovino and Hernan Musaluppi, we are strengthening the structure needed to continue to grow and increase the volume, excellence and reach of our work in a market where Mediapro Studio already has a strong presence.”

Santiago López, CEO of Cimarrón, highlighted the company’s strengthened team: “Starting operations in Brazil is a natural step in our growth. This new phase also includes the addition of Andres Jeros as creative producer for Latin America, complementing our portfolio of original projects. He is a talent we have worked with for many years and we are excited to have him join our production company.”

Guerros, an Argentine producer, creator, screenwriter, and author, co-wrote numerous series produced by Berman. “Yosi, The Regretful Spy” (Prime Video), “Maledictions” (Netflix), and soon to debut on Flow, “So Far, So Good.”

He is also the creator of titles such as “Payback: una somos dos” (Disney+ Latin America), “Cumbia Ninja” and “Kdabra” (Fox).

As part of its growth plans, the company will also ramp up its production of nonfiction formats and content in the region, led by Amparo Castellano, Global Director of Nonfiction at MediaPro Studios, who will add this area to his scope.

Cimarron produced its first reality show last year, Televisa Univisión, an adaptation of the survival reality show “El Conquistador.”

Upcoming releases include Lisandro Alonso’s Double Freedom, which will have its world premiere at Cannes Directors’ Fortnight. The Birman-produced series “So Far, So Good” and director Juan Taratuto’s latest film “Nothing Between Us,” starring Gael García Bernal and Natalia Oreiro, will premiere in theaters in Argentina, Mexico and Uruguay on May 21st before opening on HBO Max Latin America.

The company is also a co-producer of the Spanish film Altas capacidades, directed by Victor García León, which was recently released in Spain.
