Director Chris Stokes has signed an exclusive 20-film deal with new streaming platform Turnstr+. His upcoming film “Forever, This Ring” will debut when the platform launches on October 2nd.
Starring Taye Diggs, Erica Mena, Loretta Devine, Marquise Houston, Malik Whitfield, and LaMia Goode.
Described as a “twisty physiological thriller,” according to the official logline, Forever, This Ring follows a wealthy couple whose perfect marriage turns into a “nightmare.” Maverick Collins, a successful entrepreneur and playboy, promises he won’t get married until he meets the woman of his dreams and changes his mind. However, when he gets married, he realizes that she is not the woman he thought she was. “Will the woman he once loved quietly leave, or will this lead to a deadly divorce?”
“I’m excited to be able to scale up another platform. I believe I have an eye for new things and things that people want to see. I believe in what I’m doing and it’s reflected in my work and the fans will always flock to me,” Stokes said. “As I help take Turnstr+ Originals to the next level, I look forward to continuing our strong partnership with Tubi and pushing the boundaries together as we expand into Turnstr+. We’ve done it before, and we’re about to do it again.”
Stokes has a track record of helping originals break out on streaming platforms like BET+ and Tubi Originals. Previously, Stokes founded and served as chairman of independent film company Footage Films, which produced Tubi and BET+ originals including “The Stepdaughter,” “Forever Us,” “Vicious Affair,” “The Stepmother” series, and “Sacrifice.” Marques Houston serves as CEO of Footage Films, and Juanita Stokes serves as president.
Stokes has directed 57 films throughout his career, including “Rockabye,” “You Got Served,” “Adapted,” “Run,” and “Snatched.” Upcoming films include “The Hijack” starring Tremaine Norris, “I Didn’t Do It” starring Jackie Long, and “The Night Shift” starring April Jones.
