Carole Radziwill’s past comes back to haunt her on season 16 of “The Real Housewives of New York City.”
In the trailer for the upcoming season of the hit TV show Bravo, the 62-year-old Radziwill is questioned by fellow New Yorkers over his alleged relationship with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
“It’s the Epstein file!” Radziwill was surprised when a stranger called out to him as he was walking down the street with co-star Erin Ritchie.
“She was in Epstein’s file!” the woman added.
In the next scene, “RHONY” star Cy de Silva directly asks Radziwill if he’s ever been to Epstein’s private island. Epstein engaged in sex trafficking and child abuse there.
“No,” Radziwill promises. “Do you think I’m part of an international sex trafficking ring?”
Radziwill came under intense scrutiny earlier this year after her name surfaced in Epstein’s files. Although she later told the New York Times that she “didn’t know anything about Jeffrey Epstein,” she did open up about her former friendship with Ghislaine Maxwell, the British socialite who was convicted of aiding Epstein’s sexual abuse of young girls.
“Imagine knowing someone…and it turns out they’re like a monster,” Radziwill said in an interview in March.
The reality TV star explained that she had been friends with Maxwell, who is currently serving a 20-year sentence in prison, for “five or six years” in the early 2000s, but never thought she was capable of such a terrible act. According to Radziwill, their friendship ended long before Maxwell’s crimes came to light.
Meanwhile, Radziwill is gearing up for his grand return to the Bravo Universe. The journalist first joined RHONY as a housewife in season 5, but left after season 10.
Her return marks a new era for “Rhoney,” which replaced its OG cast with a new group of women in season 14. Of that cast, only Lissy, de Silva, and Jessel Turnk are returning for season 16, along with newcomers Haley Glassman, Daisy Toy, and Erica Hammond.
From the trailer alone, it looks like the three new women are bringing more life to the series. Billionaire Hammond welcomes the cast to his private island, publicist Glassman opens up about his “lavender marriage,” and celebrity makeup artist Toy convinces his boss Martha Stewart to make a cameo in front of the Bravo cameras.
Additionally, Lissy appears to be feuding with both De Silva and Turnk this season.
It looks like Andy Cohen has finally found a way to make this beloved series “great” again.
“The Real Housewives of New York City” Season 16 premieres Tuesday, September 8 at 8pm ET.
