Batman: The Caped Crusader revealed the Joker’s true identity.
House of the Dragon star Matthew Needham will voice the villain in Season 2 of the animated noir series, after the Clown Prince of Crime was teased at the end of Season 1. (John DiMaggio, who voices Detective Harvey Bullock on the show, is said to voice the Joker in the final episode).
Needham’s casting was revealed at San Diego Comic-Con, where he joined cast members Hamish Linklater (Batman) and Jamie Chung (Harley Quinn) and executive producers James Tucker and Jeffrey Thorne in a panel discussion following the screening of the Season 2 premiere episode.
The 10-episode second season of “Batman: Caped Crusader” will be released on Amazon Prime Video on July 31st. In addition to Linklater, Chong, and Needham, the show’s ensemble voice cast also includes Eric Morgan Stewart, Michelle C. Bonilla, Crystal Joy Brown, Jason Watkins, Gary Anthony Williams, Ronan Raftery, Wunmi Mosaku, Laraine Newman, and Gray. Delisle, DiMaggio, Zach Hoffman, William Saylers, Josh Brenner, Bumper Robinson, Cedric Yarbrough, Tom Kenny, Roger Craig Smith, Bryce Mellin, Frieda Wolfe, Kevin Michael Richardson, Juliette Donnenfeld, Robin Atkin Downs.
Batman: The Caped Crusader will begin streaming on Prime Video in 2024. This animated series depicts Batman’s early days as he waged a one-man war against crime in Gotham City. Executive producers include J.J. Abrams, Matt Reeves, and Bruce Timm, as well as James Tucker, Jeffrey Thorne, Sarah Geismar, Rachel Rush Rich, and Sam Register.
Amazon’s gaming division, Luna, also showed a trailer for the video game Batman: Caped Crusader – Chronicles, which is scheduled to be released on July 31st on the Luna app.
