Spoiler Alert: This post contains spoilers for “Datton Ranch,” episode 7, “Den of Sin,” currently streaming on Paramount+.
Yay! Welcome to another week of “Dutton Ranch.” After last week’s festivities, we’re all dressed up for a fancy party at 10 Petals. Beulah (Annette Bening) spares no expense, but can everyone get along without fighting? Of course not! Without further ado, let’s dive into this week’s episode, which begins with a flashback to decades ago.
Ah, Fort Worth, August 1981…I’m ready to see young Beulah (Rebecca Robles) in command!I notice a “Bikini Bull Riding” sign in the background. It’s dangerous! Hello, Mariano (Bobby Soto)! Are you Joaquin’s father? Eddie Rabbit’s track is also great! Please air more vintage country on this show! This bar looks like we’ll have a lot of fun! And I can’t find my phone…Waylon Jennings’ romantic dance scene with Luke (Cameron Cowperthwaite)? I agree! Come on, Mariano! Flirt with this bartender (Andi Matichak)! Beulah’s attack happened quickly! The men of Fort Worth in 1981 cannot be trusted for a second. Back to the present day… Beulah’s power costume is so cool! A bunch of cowboys with an open tab? I can’t imagine what kind of trouble they’ll get into! The waitstaff all look like they’re ready to spit on Beulah’s food. No, Rob Will (Jai Courtney) is going to completely crash this fancy party, right? Is Rip (Cole Hauser) in formal attire? I thought that day would never come! Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Lip are guzzling booze and beer on a horse…should they go to rehab too? Did you know that Joaquín (Juan Pablo Raba) will be taking over from Beulah? Even so, the timeline seems very fast! Oh, and Oleanna (Natalie Alyn Lind) flirting so brazenly in front of Carter (Finn Little) is 100% going to start a fight at this lovely event. I feel like Josh Stewart, who plays Sheriff Wade, is the quiet MVP of this show. I hope we get to see more of him as he has a great presence on screen. Oh, what a tender moment between Beulah and Everett (Ed Harris). Their chemistry is electric! This bar brawl broke out in no time! I love it! Austin (Sterlin English), don’t try to tear down the ranch that keeps killing people! Not smart! Oh, that was a dark comeback speech, Rob Will. Oleanna, your sexual manipulation games are too much for Carter. Remember, he’s supposed to be in high school. Damn it, Beulah took Robwill’s threat seriously. What a betrayal! Oh Carter, I have to admit I didn’t see this drunken behavior coming. What’s your plan, Bud?!? Did Beulah have a heart attack? Fuck! Going back in time…so was Robwill the result of Luke’s sexual assault? It’s so dark…oh my god. Did she kill Luke in cold blood? wild!
Until next week, Brawler and Booze Hound.
