Bendita Film Sales has acquired international sales rights to writer-director Miroslav Terzic’s 3 Weeks After, which will have its world premiere at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival’s Crystal Globe Competition.
Inspired by real events, the film explores violence among children as a reflection of a society where brutality is increasingly witnessed and normalized.
When a group of teenagers are stranded far from home on a school trip, the recent suicide of a classmate begins to reveal the cracks, loyalties, and secrets that bind them together.
The film stars Jovan Jinic (The Lost Country), Tihana Lazic (The High Sun), and Branislav Trifunovic (The Game).
Terzic’s debut feature Redemption Street premiered at the São Paulo Film Festival and won the Best Debut Feature award at the Cottbus Film Festival. His second feature, Stitches, premiered in the Panorama section of the Berlinale and won the European Cinemas Label Award and the Panorama Audience Award.
3 Weeks After is produced by This and That Productions in Serbia, Invictus in Bulgaria, Nightswim in Italy, Kinorama in Croatia and Paul Thiltges Distributions in Luxembourg.
This work is supported by the Serbian Film Center, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, the Luxembourg Film Fund, the Bulgarian National Film Center, the Minister of Culture – Minister of Cinema e Audiovisivo, the Croatian Audiovisual Center (HAVC), Creative Europe Media and Synedra.
Louis Renard, CEO of Bendita Film Sales, commented: “With astonishing precision and restraint, Miroslav Terzic crafts a deeply unsettling portrait of adolescence, revealing how violence is ingrained in everyday life and remains invisible until it can no longer be ignored. The result is a film with a rare, haunting emotional power that lingers long after the final frame.”
This said Snezana van Hauwelingen, producer of and That Productions.
