Ruby Rose wrote in a 2011 essay about the night Katy Perry allegedly sexually assaulted her. An article written for Australian news outlet news.com.au has resurfaced in which she wrote about her journey to sobriety and detailed a drunken night out with a pop star. “I had been sober for 30 days, my first attempt at sobriety, and I was out partying with Katie,” Rose wrote at the time. “What I remember thinking was, ‘I’m going to drink tonight. Of course I should. I mean, what’s the worst that can happen?'” Well, not stopping at one drink or 10, and…
Now on its 22nd edition, the Guadalajara Film Festival (FICG) Co-Production Meeting program has grown from strength to strength, luring a wide range of directors and producers from Spain and Latin America, both new and established. There are quite a number of projects from Argentina, which has leaned more heavily on co-productions given the plunge in federal support at home. In 2024, Argentina’s right-wing populist government moved to scrap funding for the national Film-TV body, INCAA, as part of sweeping austerity measures aimed at curbing the country’s runaway inflation. Taking place April 20–22 this year, the program requires projects in…
A baseball game should be fun. For KJ Dillard, the Bravo star wasn’t happy to see his “Summer House” co-stars Amanda Batula and West Wilson packing on the PDA at Yankee Stadium. The couple was spotted kissing live on Friday night during a game between the Kansas City Royals and New York Yankees. Dillard responded to the footage on a thread, referencing his home city, writing, “Sikos,” “I just threw up in my mouth,” and “Thank you Kansas City for claiming me.” KJ Dillard (pictured in January) wasn’t happy to see his “Summer House” co-stars Amanda Batula and West Wilson…
A federal judge in Sacramento has issued a preliminary injunction against Nexstar’s acquisition of Tegna TV stations as part of DirecTV’s lawsuit to prevent the TV station group from merging. Late Friday, Judge Troy Nunley of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California issued a 52-page ruling that upheld DirecTV’s argument that allowing Nexstar to consolidate Tegna’s 64 stations could cause “irreparable harm” to DirecTV. Nexstar has said it will appeal. Nexstar announced on March 19 that it had completed its acquisition of Tegna, despite lawsuits in California and other states seeking to block the deal. On…
Katy Perry has shifted from her “I Kissed a Girl” and pop party girl days to dating billionaires and mingling with some of the world’s most powerful people. But this week, Australian actress Ruby Rose’s public accusations of sexual assault left her “blindsided,” her friends told Page Six. Ms Rose claimed in a thread that the 41-year-old singer rubbed his exposed crotch in her face during a boozy night at a Melbourne club in 2010. “Detectives are investigating a historic sexual assault that took place in Melbourne in 2010,” police said in a statement this week. Prime Minister Perry and…
Marlon Wayans and Sean Wayans are eyeing a return to one of the most famous comedies, and say a sequel to “White Chicks” could be in the works depending on the performance of “Scary Movie 6.” In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the brothers said they would be open to reprising the comedy, which they co-wrote and starred in. “Let’s put it this way: We’re in the game,” said Marlon Wayans, who added that a sequel “could happen” if “Scary Movie 6,” which is scheduled to be released in theaters on June 5, attracts audiences. Released in 2004, White Chicks…
