Ariana Grande and Ricky Alvarez are taking on a new challenge.
“Ariana has rekindled her relationship with Ricky, but she is in no rush to get back into a relationship,” a source exclusively told Page Six. “She has a lot to do right now and is still incredibly busy with her touring schedule, so they’re just taking things one step at a time.”
The source continued, “Ricky has remained close with Ariana’s family over the years, which she really appreciates. He also makes an effort to show up and support her when she’s on tour, and that hasn’t gone unnoticed.”
The couple is “enjoying spending time together again and seeing how things progress without putting too much pressure on their relationship.”
Grande’s representatives did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
People first reported the news of the date.
Rumors of a relationship sparked last month when the “God Is a Woman” songstress, 33, was spotted with Alvarez, 35, at a restaurant in Austin, Texas, with a group of friends on his birthday.
The pair then spent the Fourth of July weekend together and were photographed leaving a Whole Foods in Boca Raton, Florida, carrying shopping bags.
Earlier this week, while performing in New York as part of her “Eternal Sunshine” tour, Grande dropped a sharp hint that the rumors of a rekindled relationship might be true.
While singing “Thank U, Next,” which was famously named after her former lover, Grande changed the lyrics from “I wrote some songs about Ricky/Now I listen and laugh” to “I wrote some songs about Ricky/We always find our way back.”
Footage showed the audience going completely crazy over the surprise switch-up.
As Page Six previously reported, Grande and Alvarez briefly dated from 2015 to 2016 and appear to have remained on good terms. The two met in 2015 when Alvarez was a backup dancer on the Grammy winner’s honeymoon tour.
The excitement over Alvarez and Grande’s rekindled romance comes on the heels of Alvarez’s split from her Wicked co-star Ethan Slater after three years together.
“Ariana and Ethan broke up a few months ago, but they have remained friends ever since and have nothing but respect and admiration for each other,” a source told Page Six last month. “This was not a decision they made lightly, but they realized they were better off as friends than in a committed relationship.”
The source said Grande, who began dating Slater, 34, in 2023, is “really happy and focused on her next chapter” as she prepares to tour and release her new album, Petal.
