Anonymous Content has signed fast-rising Australian writer, director, producer and actor Nick Annas for representation, consistent with the company’s stated competitive landscape.
Anonymous says the 20-year-old Sydney-based singer is “one of the most exciting young multi-hyphenate voices of his generation”.
Annas is currently in post-production on her debut feature film, Crashout, a Gen Z thriller film she wrote while still in high school. The film stars Kathryn LaGaia in her first role after Disney’s live-action Moana, co-stars Joe Bird (Talk to Me) and newcomer Evelyn Sims, and follows a group of high school graduates whose celebratory road trip ends in tragedy. When an accident kills one of their friends, the three remaining teens panic and fear the consequences, but decide to stage a found footage film to rewrite the night and save their future.
At just 14 years old, Annas was selected as a finalist for the Academy Nicholl Fellowship, the PAGE International Screenwriting Award, and the ScreenCraft Feature Fellowship for Screenwriting Herschel, and quickly established himself as an emerging screenwriter. Around the same time, he became Australia’s youngest published playwright through Playlab Theatre.
Annas began his career as a child actor and has since appeared in projects such as HBO and BBC’s The Tourist, George Miller’s Furiosa: The Mad Max Saga, and Peter Rabbit 2. He trained with the Australian Theater for Young People and was awarded five drama scholarships at Australia’s leading performing arts school, Macdonald College.
Beyond his work in film and television, Anas has become an active voice in conversations surrounding Gen Z storytelling and emerging creators, speaking on a panel at SXSW three years in a row.
Annas continues to be represented by Sophie Jermyn Management in Australia.
