Adrien Brody closed a swanky restaurant in New York City to celebrate the success of his Broadway show Fear of 13.
The “Brutalist” actor hosted an intimate dinner for his castmates, friends and family on Wednesday night at Esther’s, a new hotspot in the Meatpacking District, a source exclusively tells Page Six.
“The restaurant was completely closed,” the source said, adding, “There was an incredible celebratory mood throughout the night.”
Brody’s girlfriend Georgina Chapman reportedly received a warm cheer from the two-time Oscar winner.
“During a short toast, Adrian praised his Broadway co-star Tessa Thompson as his ‘amazing partner in crime,’ before sweetly acknowledging his girlfriend Georgina,” a source said.
Brody, 53, ended his emotional speech by thanking the venue for supporting him through his limited production work.
“I would like to sincerely thank everyone who shared this special experience with me…it was a very enriching experience,” he told the group. “I feel blessed to be able to do everything with my loved ones and my comrades.”
Guests can be heard gathering around long communal tables filled with crudo, pasta, steak and the restaurant’s signature banana bread cake. Cocktails and wine were available until late at night.
“During cocktails and dinner, everyone was sharing stories and there was so much love at the table,” a source said.
To cap off the night, Brody surprised partygoers with a giant chocolate shaped like a foot crusher. It’s a playful homage to the theatrical expression “break a leg.”
To the delight of the audience, Brody and Thompson were seen taking turns hitting their knees with large wooden sticks, bringing good luck to the cast and crew.
Brody looked cool in blue jeans, a black sweater, and a shiny black bomber jacket. Chapman matched the A-lister with a black leather jacket layered over a black blouse.
She was seen taking sweet photos with the fashion designer she started dating in 2020.
Harvey Weinstein’s ex-wife and Brody made their red carpet debut as a couple at the Tribeca Film Festival in June 2021.
Brody’s play opened to rave reviews on April 15 and has already attracted a star-studded audience, including the show’s producer Kim Kardashian.
Page Six reported last week that Kardashian bought last-minute tickets for herself and boyfriend Lewis Hamilton to the evening’s performance.
“She entered the show without anyone noticing and then stopped backstage to say hello to the cast,” a source told Us at the time.
The night before, she headed to the James Earl Jones Theater to see a show with her mom Kris Jenner, sister Kylie, and boyfriend Timothée Chalamet.
Kardashian, a prison reform advocate, supported the show, which tells the true story of a man who spent decades on death row before proving his innocence and regaining his freedom.
