Adam Sandler is totally obsessed with sweatpants.
On Tuesday night, the actor showed up to the LA premiere of Office Romance in unique style to support his wife, Jackie Sandler.
While the actress, who stars in the Netflix romantic comedy, wore a little black Schiaparelli dress and sky-high heels, her husband chose to show his love for the New York Knicks.
The notoriously stocky star opted for blue sweatpants and a bright orange Knicks hoodie ($150) as a tribute to his home team, which dominated the Cleveland Cavaliers to reach the NBA Finals.
This wardrobe choice quickly went viral on Reddit, with many criticizing his ultra-casual outfit.
“I guess it’s different when he’s doing promotions or his own projects, but when it’s his wife’s job, he can at least wear khakis and a golf shirt lol,” one Reddit user wrote.
Another replied: “Yes, this is what he says now.”
However, one person jokingly defended Sandler, writing, “So for Sandler, it’s pretty much formal wear,” prompting the response, “The color of the text matches the color of the pants. That’s an effort. Or was it sold as a set?”
Sandler’s laissez-faire approach to dressing up is nothing new, but he does dress up occasionally, such as on the “SNL 50” red carpet.
“I feel terrible,” the star said of his skinny suit at the event.
At last year’s Oscar ceremony, Sandler wore a blue zip-up hoodie and basketball shorts to crash Conan O’Brien’s opening monologue, making fun of his signature casual wear.
“Adam, you’re dressed well,” O’Brien joked, adding, “You dressed like a guy playing video poker at 2 a.m.”
But frequent co-star Jennifer Aniston had none of his antics at the 2023 premiere of Murder Mystery 2. While she looked dazzling in a Versace minidress, Sandler showed up in a white Knicks sweatshirt (this one by Todd Snyder) layered over a Hawaiian shirt and khakis and blue sneakers.
“What the hell are you doing?!” Aniston exclaimed when she saw him at an event.
