Happy Endings and The Mindy Project star Adam Pally has been cast as the lead in The Sanctuary, a new comedy series from New Zealand’s Kevin & Company and Sky.

In “The Sanctuary,” Parry plays “an eccentric American billionaire hiding from New Zealand law who is forced to turn his luxurious private island into a Department of Conservation reserve to avoid extradition.”

Joseph Moore and Laura Daniel created the eight-episode series, which aired in New Zealand on Sky’s Three network and streamer ThreeNow. No word yet on U.S. distribution (Los Angeles-based producer Happy Accidents and the New Zealand arm of Warner Bros. Discovery were previously reported as producers on the project, but are no longer involved).

In addition to “Happy Endings” and “The Mindy Project,” Parry also starred in series such as “Making History” and “Indebted,” and was an executive producer on Comedy Central’s “The President’s Show.”

Pally also began airing his latest comedy special, “An Intimate Evening With Adam Pally,” on HBO last October. He starred opposite Stephen Curry and Ego Nwodim in the Peacock comedy series “Mr. Throwback,” of which he also served as an executive producer, and also appeared on Netflix’s “FUBAR.”

Without a script, he and John Gavras starred in the travel comedy series 101 Places to Party Before You Die. The co-creators also co-host the SmartLess Media podcast Staying Alive with Jon Gabrus and Adam Pally.

Parry’s film credits include Paramount’s Sonic the Hedgehog series (and Paramount+ spinoff series Knuckles), as well as Who Asked Charlie?, Netflix/WWE Studios’ Main Event, Likely Murder, Dog Days, Band Aid, Iron Man 3, Dirty Grandpa, and The Little. For hours. ”

Upcoming projects include The Beatles — 4 Movies, directed by Sam Mendes, in which he plays controversial Beatles manager Allen Klein. He will appear in Madeleine Sackler’s sci-fi drama O Horizon, as well as Melissa Miller’s Run and Steve Pink’s What the Fck Is My Password.

Kevin & Co.’s credits include ‘Taskmaster NZ’.
