“It feels good to be nominated again in 26 years,” he said before joking about Wells, “Yes, she’ll be my date. I don’t know. It’s still a long way to go until September.
He continued more seriously, “My wife and I, we’re so excited. She looks great.”

Wells is also an actor, with California, Nip/Tuck, and Leverage: Redemption, and Will also have IMDB credits for his lead role in leverage. In her Instagram bio, she also describes herself as a singer and a “pancake flipper.” She uses the platform to get a glimpse into her life at home with Weil and her children, as well as her two dogs, Piper and Reuben. Weil was previously married to Tracy Warbin, but shares two children, Owen and Auden, born in 2002 and 2005, respectively. He and Wells welcomed their daughter, Francis, in 2015. Wells appears to have stepped up as a step man as stepmother to older children, and Weil often talks about their relationship with Frances.
In March 2025, Weil told people that his kids didn’t see much of his first famous show, ER.
“They’ve seen the anatomy of Gray more than they have,” he admitted. “That’s the point of competition. But the older they get and the more interested they get in this business, the more I want to keep it as something they might want to engage with.”
He also spoke about how becoming a dad changed his approach to his career.
“After my son was born, my preferences changed radically,” he explained. “After I was a father, I was suddenly very conscious of my kids watching my dad do and say.”
He added, “You know, I would rather play a good person.”
His children seemed interested in playing, and Auden played Weil’s daughter in Leverage: Red.
