Malcolm Jamal Warner’s widow has finally confirmed her identity over the years that are very inconspicuous.
On Friday, Tenisha Warner, the wife of the “Cosby Show” actor, shared a wedding photo that she had never seen before and announced the launch of the Warner Family Foundation and River & Ember with her daughter.
The release takes place two months after his beloved actor’s death at the age of 54.
“Thank you for making us love so much during this kind of time,” she began partially posting, noting that her wedding anniversary will fall on Saturday. The couple got married in 2017.
“I can still hear my husband laugh, but I feel the way he made space for every part of me.
“Today, in his honor, my daughter and I have launched River & Ember and formally opened the Warner Family Foundation. Together we have the legacy that our husband and I have begun, raising the inner light of our children, giving young artists the freedom to create outside the line.”
She concluded by saying, “This is love. It’s still moving. It’s still making. It’s still moving us forward.”
Tenisha has added a River & Ember mission statement. It is an organization that provides parents strategies and toolkits to help their children through difficult times.
The seasonal toolkit includes stories, family rituals, and parental reflections to help children deal with feelings, including sadness. The Warner Family Foundation was established to provide university scholarships to students seeking to educate the arts.
In the comment thread, Malcolm Jamal’s “Cosby Show” co-star Kesia Knight Pugliam, 46, cried out that the tribute was “simply beautiful ❤️.”
“His legacy lives on,” another follower wrote, but the third cried out, “It seems his laughter echoing through the photos.”
“Testimony that true love creates purpose beyond loss,” the fourth believer said. “We love and support your tennis!”
Malcolm Jamal lost his life on July 20th while on vacation in Costa Rica. He was swimming with his daughter, who was eight years old at the time.
He is drawn out of the water, but tries to revive him. Failed and he was declared dead on the scene. Police say his cause of death was listed as suffocating by a “diving.”
In an interview two months before his death, the actor revealed how he wanted to be remembered.
“There’s a part of me that I know this planet and that I can leave people who know I’m a good person,” he said on May 21st of Melyssa Ford’s “Hot & Prayed” podcast.
“(My Father) I said frequently, “You know people love you, and people always talk about your career and your success and all of that, but what really makes me the most proud of you is that you are a good person,” he added.
