A live show from New York, that’s the exit for Ego Nwodim.
Members of “Saturday Night Live” announced on Friday that they will be leaving the sketch show in seven years.
“The most difficult part of a great party is knowing when to say good night,” the comedian began announcing social media.
“But after seven unforgettable seasons, I decided to leave ‘SNL’,” the 37-year-old wrote. “I am extremely grateful to Lorne (Michaels), my castmates, writers and the crew for their brilliance, support and friendship.
“Each week at that stage he taught me more than I could have imagined, and I always carry those memories (and those laughs) with me,” she continued.
In conclusion, the actress said, “Please invite me to your wedding now!!!”
A colleague from Nwodim expressed support in the comments section.
“He’s one of the best friends to do. Goats,” writes Chloe Feynman.
“I just texted you, but I want to say it out loud and proud here. It was an honor and a complete joy to work with you,” a strong voice. “One of the best I’ve ever had.”
The “Mr. Throwback” star reposted an upload to her story in Red Heart. The text then continued, “Who has quit” and had already sent messages about “remote part-time” job opportunities.
Nwodim joined the NBC Show as a feature player for Season 44 in 2018 and was promoted to main cast member two years later.
Her departure comes a month after the show creator Michaels bullied a plan to “shake things” on Pack News amid “Pressure to Reinvent.”
The news then defeated Heidi Gardner, Michael Longfellow, Emile Wakim and Devon Walker leaving the show.
The post reported earlier this month that Gardner, the longest decorated female cast member, did not renew his contract as it was “new cast time.”
Meanwhile, Tommy Brennan, Jeremy Calhane, Ben Marshall, Cam Patterson and Veronica Slow Kowska were tapped to participate.
