According to Warner Bros. Discovery, “Task” debuted on HBO on Sunday night, reaching 3.1 million viewers in its first three days.
This will result in viewers of the premiere episode, 36% above the 36% episode of the 2021 “Mare of East Town” premiere (“Task” is not a sequel to “Mare of East Town”; it shows that it’s good to come for “Task”. These statistics are due to a combination of measurements of linear viewers on Nielsen’s HBO cable channels and WBD’s own data on HBO Max’s streams.
Additionally, “Task” has made its top five series debut in the five-year history of HBO MAX. The total total of the full top five three-day viewers was not available, but the other four series on the list was “House of the Dragon,” premiering with just under 10 million viewers in one day. “The Last of Us” premiered with 4.7 million viewers in one day. “Penguin” premiered over four days with 5.3 million viewers. “Dune: Prophecy” premiered over two days with 2.1 million viewers.
“Task” stars Mark Ruffalo as FBI agent Tom Brandis, following the official logline, “leading a task force to end a series of violent robberies led by unsuspecting family men.” The cast also includes Emilia Jones, Jamie McShane, Sam Keely and therefore Mvedy, Fabian Frankel, Allison Oliver, Raul Castillo, Sylvia Dionicio, Phoebe Fox and Martha Plimpton.
