Henry Cavill reportedly was injured while training for the highly anticipated “Highlander” remake.
The 42-year-old actor suffered unspecified injuries seriously enough to delay filming, Deadline reported. Film production should begin in 2026.
Cavill representatives did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Cavill will appear in the 1986 cult classic Amazon MGM Studios remake.
The new version of the fantasy action adventure film features a star-studded cast. Aside from Cavill, Russell Crowe, Dave Bautista and Jimon Fnus also play roles in the film.
The film revolves around an immortal Scottish swordsman who faces off against other immortal warriors in order to gain his coveted abilities. Chad Stahelski, who directed 2014’s John Wick, is directing the remake.
In a Q&A with the Hollywood Reporter released in July, Cavill said he was completely focused on “Highlander” this summer.
“It’s taking all my focus,” he said of the film. “This is a project I’m extremely excited about. This character is a lot of fun to play and I love working with Chad Stahelski. He’s a very talented guy.”
Cavill is very private about his personal life.
He welcomed the baby girl in January along with his girlfriend Natalie Vishso. The couple made their red carpet debut in October 2022 with the premiere of Netflix’s “Enola Homes 2” in New York City.
Comedian Tiffany Haddish actually described him as “nasty” and said he didn’t want to sleep with him after seeing him in real life.
“I really want Henry Cavill before. I think he’s very hot,” she told the Los Angeles Times in May 2024. “But I met him and he was very troublesome.
Haddish playfully called him a nerd and theorized that he was “more comfortable” to talk about the fantasy game “Dungeons & Dragons.”
