James McAvoy, along with the producer of his new film, California Simin, was reportedly punched by a random guy at a Toronto bar on Monday night.
The 46-year-old actor went to the bar in Charlotte’s room on Monday night and was attacked by a man while his back was turning, people report.
McAvoy was caught off guard by a punch and reportedly was thrown by a drunken patron.
“James had a casual gathering with the producers of his films, and as he learned when he later spoke to staff, there were too many people escorted,” a source nearby McAvoy told the outlet.
The source continued, “James’s back was on him and the man just punched him.”
The “X-Men: First Class” star reportedly tried to escalate the situation and was not bothered. He stayed at the bar after the incident and laughed at it.
McAvoy representatives and Charlotte’s room did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Page 6.
The Scottish actor was in the town of the Toronto International Film Festival. He and his wife, Lisa Liberati, attended the world premiere of “California Simin” on Saturday.
McAvoy directed the film. This tells the real story of Silibil N’Brains, a Scottish hip-hop duo who pretended to be American to be taken seriously by the record industry.
He also has a small part in musical biopics. It is based on the 2011 autobiography of Silivir & Brains member Gavin Bain, “Straight Outta Scotland: True Stories of Fakes, Money and Betrayal in the Music Industry.”
McAvoy revealed that in 2022 she secretly married Liberati, a Philadelphia native.
They were M when she was working as a director’s personal assistant and started dating a few years later. We met on the set of night Shyamalan’s 2016 horror thriller “Split.”
They welcomed their son in 2022. In McAvoy, his son Brendan is with his ex-wife, Anne Marie Duff.
