John Malkovich gives rare insight into “romance” with co-star Michelle Pfeiffer

John Malkovich reflects on his contact with Coscar Michelle Pfeiffer while the 1998 Liaison, the Dangerous Liaison Bureau was being created.

Actor 71 was asked on the Fashion Neurosis Podcast about “possibly romance with the most beautiful woman in the world,” as host Bella Freud said.

“That’s not something I’ve ever talked about,” began Malkovic.

“In our work, in the work I do normally, you build emotional bonds with people very quickly. That’s part of the job,” he explained. “In rare cases, these bonds have expanded beyond work.”

Pfeiffer, now 67, said “he was a person I had a lot to cherish as a colleague,” and called his scene partner “so much fun” and “incredibly fair.” In contrast, he added, “I probably (not fair) – I mean, I certainly wasn’t.”

Pfeiffer’s representatives were unable to reach people.

After the release of Dangerous Liaison, the outlet reported that the Oscar nominee had an affair with Pfeiffer during production in the romantic drama directed by Stephen Flairs, starring Glenn Close. Markovich’s marriage to the late actress Grennes ended shortly afterwards. Batman returns a star away from her husband, actor Peter Horton, shortly afterwards.

“I think I’ve learned over the course of my life that great colleagues are actually more unusual than anything,” Malkovich told Freud in a broad conversation about his artistic career and approach to fashion.

“When that relationship, at least in my experience, that relationship, or friendship, even deeper friendship, and it may be my particular psychology, stupidity, incompetence, or all of the above, you lose a great colleague,” he said.

Malkovic also mentioned Lithuanian actress Ingelborga Dapkunite, saying, “Because (we) never crossed the boundaries because there were no great friends or colleagues left, so the borders never crossed. That’s what I learned.

The Opus star has been associated with Italian production designer Nicoletta Peyran, who has been sharing two children since 1989. Pfeiffer is married to writer David E. Kelley and has shared two children since 1993.
