Jack Osborne reveals the moment it was revealed that his father, Ozzy Osborne, has passed away.
In a YouTube video posted on Wednesday, September 3, Jack, 39, explained that he found a way to deal with his father’s July 22 death at Harefield Hospital in West London, according to the death certificates people have obtained. The legend of the Black Sabbath was 76.
“I woke up in Los Angeles and knocked on the door of my house at 3:45am local time,” Jack recalled in a YouTube clip.
“The person who worked for my family for probably 30 years was knocking on my door. When I looked at my window and thought it was him, I knew something bad had happened. I was informed that my dad had passed,” he said.
Jack explained that he felt “sadness” and “pain” quickly, adding “so many thoughts.”
“I wish he was still here. I wish he was still with us all, he was going roughly and I think people saw it on the show.”
“No one thought it would happen as fast as it did,” Jack claimed Ozzy’s death. “It wasn’t on our radar.”

That day, the TV personality flew to England and arrived at the airport just as news about his father’s death broke all over the world.
“So many people reach out,” he recalled, admitting he was “thank you” to be on the plane at the time, so he only received the text.
“It’s really unique about this experience, it’s overwhelming, it’s really validated with love and people reaching out. My dad was a special guy,” Jack said.
“He means a lot to many people,” he shared, and became emotional. “He was loved so much. Many will miss him.”

Jack, a father of four, said in the video that his family had planned to go to Portugal on vacation a few weeks before his father’s death, but the children ended up ingesting the stomach virus, so they hang out at Ozzy’s house north of London for a week.
“I’ve never been grateful that my kids have the stomach flu like they do today,” Jack insisted.

Jack was in the UK to take part in Ozzy’s final performance at Black Sabbath at Villa Park Stadium in Birmingham on July 5th.
After being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2003, Ozzy played on a bat-themed throne with a skull design on each armrest (he revealed the diagnosis to fans in 2020).
After the show, Jack said in a YouTube clip that his father was “a surprising mood” and enjoyed reading reviews and stories from the paper gig.
