Howard Stern unexpectedly cancels the return of the radio show.

Howard Stern postponed a week’s return to his radio show of the same name, as his future with SiriusXM remains uncertain.

The station was scheduled to return to “The Howard Stern Show” after Tuesday’s summer vacation. However, the radio program’s social media account posted “Howard Stern will give a speech on Monday, September 8th,” urging listeners to “look forward to it.”

Sources confirmed on page six that Stern told staff on Monday that he would not return to the show as expected on Tuesday due to a family emergency.

Stern’s announcement comes weeks after his radio show with Sirius XM was reported to be in danger as his $500 million contract is nearing the end.

“Stern’s contract is on the rise in the fall and while Sirius plans to make an offer to him, they’re not going to take it,” an insider told the US Sun last month.

“Sirius and Stern will never meet the money he wants. It’s not worth investing anymore,” the source insists, adding that the streaming audio entertainment service could negotiate with Stern’s library.

“But as long as he comes back to the show, there’s no way they’ll continue paying him. After seeing what happened with Stephen Colbert, they don’t seem to have the chance to continue him.”

A second source told the outlet that Stern, who has become a Democrat and cut ties with President Donald Trump, may not get a “good offer” because of the “political situation.”

Another insider told the Daily Mail that he “is likely to sell catalogs of shows” on the Howard 100 and Howard 101 channels.

The outlet then reported that 71-year-old Stern and his team were behind rumors that his work was in danger as a “desperate hoax” to make the radio host “related.”

“They are desperately trying to make this viral (in September) and try to raise his numbers for his return,” the insider insisted in the Daily Mail.

“His numbers are so low that they’re trying… they’re trying to get people to tune what he’s saying about being ‘dismissed’ by Sirius (XM),” the source added.

Stern numbers are “pathetic” and it is said that the entire scheme is “something that came up on a viral scale to make people reconcile.”

Stern launched the second version of “The Howard Stern Show” on SiriusXM in 2006. Page 6 contacted the representative for comments.
