“Nature – Call for Reconciliation,” the latest event documentary by world-renowned French photographer, documentary filmmaker and activist Jan Artus Berthland (“Legacy”, “Home”, “Man”) was snapped by the German ZDF and Cesca TV in the Czech Republic.

The broadcast contract was revealed exclusively to Variety on Monday by Global Distributor Federation International. This is because 150 global buyers were heading for this week’s Unifrancis Rendezvous in LeHubre, the world’s largest dedicated market for audiovisual content in France.

It was a two-part, 52-minute series and a 105-minute film. This is an environmental documentary produced by Arthus-Bertrand’s own costume Hope Productions, originally commissioned by French broadcaster M6, which was released domestically in February.

The film was the third large, epic film love letter to the legendary French aerial photographer’s planet Earth, and the need to protect it after “Home” (2009) and “Legacy” (2021), bringing a more personal and urgent call for action. The latter photo, spoken by Sting in the English version, scooped the coveted Unifrance Export Award in 2022, sold it to more than 70 territories, earning the rights to the US, UK and the second window in France.

“Nature – Call for Reconciliation” is what Arthas Bertland calls “the most personal and challenging film ever.” This photograph traces the history of life, from its universe’s origins to its evolution and modern challenges. a narration from a filmmaker that combines adorable visuals with poetry, science and emotion, the film explores the paradoxes of our time. At the same time, it conveys a strong message of hope in the ability of people to reconcile with nature.

Sharing his various thoughts on his films and planetary states, Alsus Bertand states: “I think we’re losing the fight against climate change today. I see every day how complicated it is to do it without fossil fuels in our lives. We live in oil everywhere. It’s minimal for me – by reducing the consumption of industrial meat or rethinking our lifestyle, we see that people around me don’t want to hear it or really don’t care.”

“It’s difficult,” he confessed, “especially when you’ve been trying to become an activist for over 40 years. I don’t want to be negative, but I have to face the world and the scientific truth. It’s difficult to talk about the world we prepare for, my grandchildren,” he added.

“Yes,” he continued. “What I wanted more than anything was to show the beauty of the world, how lucky I was to have this surrounding nature that will surprise me a little more every day. And the very good news is biodiversity.

Ultimately, for the profound humanist and founder of the international environmental organization Good Planet, the greatest message of “nature” is “to learn again how to see the world with more love. It is a desire to work together to reach the heart of the problem that shows us a way.”

Unifans Screening

In Unifrance randez-vous, the film is the only fact programme invited to be exhibited on the silver screen, evidence of Alsus Bertland’s tensile strength, despite the tough times of climate-focused facts programme.

“Recently, broadcasters and streamers tend to be more conservative. They prefer lighter topics and character-driven stories, and the larger platforms aren’t very interested in pure acquisitions. However, thanks to Yang’s pedigree, his visual and poetic approach and evergreen message, I’m confident in the global appeal of photography.” Using rough cut clips, I am screening the film using subtitles here before delivering the English version around Mipcom. ”

The film just won the Deauville Green Awards-Silver Medal Award for the documentary slot, winning the festival round while serving as an entry point for discussions at selected free NGO screenings.
Arthus-Bertrand’s longtime partner, Florent Gild of Productions, is the filmmaker’s previous documentary, “Vibration” (2023), a “Woman,” a portrait of “Woman,” a portrait of 2,000 women from 50 countries, a loving stock of French biodiversity, and, as they competed in Venice in 2019, the film benefits from a wide range of impact campaigns, says Hope’s production Florent Gild.

The large slate of Arthus-Bertrand flagship document, including “Vibrant”, “Woman”, and the 27-minute “Origin”, a pre-opener for this year’s Venice Film Festival, will be handled by the majority of Federation International, following all of Robin & Co’s activities, including Robin & Co’s activities, including sales arm banner cult sales, by the majority of Federation Entertainment, purchased by the majority of the mothers of the hoped, Robin & Co, in 2023, and sales arm banner cult sales.
