The 69th BFI London Film Festival has announced an A-list roster for filmmakers who will be participating in this year’s screen talk programme.

Three-time Academy Award winner Daniel Day Lewis sits for a conversation and marks an unusual reveal for the hidden actor. The acclaimed films include “Blood,” “Lincoln,” and “Phantom Thread,” Day-Lewis is the only performer who claims three best actors, Oscars. His new film, “Anemone,” is premiering at the New York Film Festival.

Greece’s Auther Yorgos Lantimos, who is fresh off-off from “Bagonia,” which premiered at the Venice Film Festival, will also be participating in the program. Since the 2009 breakthrough “Dogtooth,” Lanthimos has carved out one of the most distinctive paths in modern cinema.

Richard Linklater is the filmmaker behind the Boyhood, Dazed and Confused and Before trilogies, and will be taking part in the conversation series. His diverse filmography ranges from comedies such as School of Rock and Hit Man, as well as experimental works such as Slacker and Waking Life. His new film, “Nouvelle Vague,” debuts at Cannes and performs in San Sebastian.

Oscar-winning “Nomadic” director Chloe Zao is one of the names of Marquee. Her approach combines documentary and story filmmaking aesthetics. This can be seen in works ranging from “Rider” to her Marvel entry “Eternals.” Her new film, “Hamnet,” premieres in Telluride, and then performs in Toronto.

The programme also includes Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi, whose work spans “The White Balloon” to “Taxi” and “No Bears.” His latest film, “It Was Just an Accident,” won Palm de or each earlier this year.

Scottish filmmaker Lynne Ramsay will also be taking part in filmography, including “Rat Catcher,” “I Need to Talk About Kevin,” and “You Wasn’t Really Here.” Her latest film, “Die My Love,” bowed at Cannes.

Actor Tessa Thompson completes the lineup with credits ranging from the “Westworld” and “Thor” franchises to a BAFTA-nominated performance on “Pass.” Her new film, “Headda,” is at the London convention.

The BFI London Film Festival will be held from October 8th to 19th.
