Sabrina Carpenter shared that she is writing a song about her ex-boyfriend. The star is connected to Barry Keogan and Shawn Mendes. She worked on fan reactions to her lyrics.

On Friday, Sabrina Carpenter shared that her relationship with her music is often intertwined, but it doesn’t seem to bother anyone she dates.

Discussing her latest album, Man’s Best Friend and CBS Mornings, the musical artist shared that she tries to be “very transparent” about her work in her relationship and believes she will feel “flattering” when she writes songs about them.

“I feel like I’m pretty transparent about getting into one of my relationships. I write songs. “It’s also pretty flattering in most cases when they get a song written about them, good or bad.”

She doesn’t name her name, but she added, “It’s more fun for people to draw in their heads than people I imagined in my head.”

Carpenter had recently linked to actor Barry Keogan. Barry Keogan appeared as a love interest in the music video for “Please Please Please.” She was also linked to pop star Shawn Mendes in the past.

During the interview, Carpenter also reflected on how fans respond to her music and critics.

“You don’t have to like what I’m doing,” she said. “I think there’s a strange misconception that every artist has to check every box and everybody wants everything about them.”

She continued. “This album isn’t for Pearl Crutchers. No, but I think even Pearl Crutchers can listen to such albums in their own solitude and find something that smirks at them and smirks them.”

In her opinion, playful and sexual lyrics are “just fun.”

“I think that’s what it is. Sometimes people hear really bold lyrics or say, ‘I don’t want to sing this in front of other people.’ It seems almost that, too, it’s TMI,” Carpenter explained. “But I’m thinking about attending a concert, and you know, many young women I see in the front row screaming at the top of their lungs with their best friend. And you say, “Oh, we all can all sigh like all the relief, like ‘This is just fun’.” And that’s everything that has to be everything. ”
