Emma Roberts traded her blue for a black one after dark.
The American Horror Story star, 35, wore an off-white antique-effect silk chiffon dress to marry actor Kodi John, but later changed into a decidedly less traditional dress for the after-party.
Her second look at the Idaho wedding, a black strapless Chantilly lace corset and a tea-length skirt with flutters of silk organza, befitted the theme she described in Vogue as a “boudoir saloon.”
“I love the idea of wearing black to the afterparty,” Roberts told the magazine during her final fitting. “We love doing things a little unexpected.”
The outfit is based on a look from Lhuillier’s fall 2004 collection, which debuted on the runway when Roberts was a preteen. However, the actress’ version had a shorter hemline, perfect for dancing the night away.
She told Vogue that she was drawn to the ensemble’s timeless appeal. “This looks absolutely vintage from 100 years ago, or even today.”

Roberts married John, 29, on Saturday at John’s family’s mansion in Sun Valley, according to exclusive photos obtained by Page Six.
Rose, her 5-year-old son with ex Garrett Hedlund, walked her down the aisle as attendees held white umbrellas to shade them from the sun in the 95-degree heat. Officials said the ceremony lasted about 45 minutes.
The ceremony dress, which took nine months and nearly 1,000 hours to create, featured a built-in corset, a high slit down the left leg, and a removable asymmetrical shawl. She told Vogue that she wanted to look “like a little antique ghost doll” for the festival.
John wore a tuxedo and the bride’s aunt, Julia Roberts, looked on in a flowing polka dot dress.
Exclusive photos showed the couple attending a bar-hopping wedding party in Ketchum the night before after a rehearsal dinner, with Roberts wearing a semi-sheer white chiffon dress and white stilettos.
The two confirmed their romance in August 2022 and got engaged in July 2024.
