NBCUniversal is hoping Peacock will get a big boost from its new bundle deal with Google’s YouTube.

Under a new multi-year agreement between NBCUniversal and YouTube, Peacock Premium (including ads) will be available in the new YouTube Premium bundle in the U.S. starting in early 2027. This is in addition to the core YouTube Premium service, which currently costs $15.99 per month, and offers ad-free viewing on YouTube, the ability to play videos in the background, downloads for offline viewing, and access to YouTube Music.

Pricing for the new YouTube Premium and Peacock bundle has not yet been announced. The deal marks Peacock’s largest wholesale distribution partnership to date, giving the streamer access to “millions of YouTube Premium subscribers in the U.S.,” according to NBCU. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed (Google also did not disclose the number of YouTube Premium subscribers).

When Peacock content becomes available in early 2027, YouTube Premium pricing in the US will remain unchanged. “We continue to introduce additional benefits and options that make it easy for subscribers to customize their viewing settings and choose a plan that’s right for them,” a YouTube representative said.

Peacock streaming service, launched in July 2020, achieved its first-ever quarterly profit in the second quarter of 2026. Peacock’s paid subscribers totaled 48 million at the end of June, a net gain of 2 million during the period.

The expanded deal between NBCU and Google also includes other elements. On the streaming front, we will expand the global reach of NBCU’s Universal+ and Hayu’s international streaming services through YouTube Premium in select markets.

Additionally, we have extended our multi-year distribution agreement with NBCUniversal and YouTube TV pay-TV service, ensuring continued distribution of NBCU’s entertainment, sports and news channels. The companies recently renewed their YouTube TV distribution agreement in October 2025.

Also under the expanded agreement, NBC Sports will serve as a production partner for select premier live sports events on YouTube. Additionally, NBCU’s “select live sports events” will be streamed for free on NBC Sports’ YouTube channel, “bringing a sample of world-class gaming to millions of users on YouTube,” the companies said.

Additionally, Peacock Premium (currently $10.99 per month) will be available as a separate add-on subscription through the YouTube Primetime channel starting later this summer. Peacock Premium Plus ($16.99 per month with ad limits) has been available via the YouTube Primetime channel since late June.

The agreement between the two companies also calls for “deepening long-standing advertising technology cooperation” including FreeWheel to enhance advertising capabilities. Additionally, the deal expands the distribution and availability of YouTube, YouTube TV and YouTube Premium on Comcast’s Xfinity and Xumo platforms.

Separately, Comcast announced plans to spin off NBCUniversal (with Britain’s Sky) in a deal expected to close in mid-2027. Mike Kavanaugh, currently co-CEO of Comcast, will become CEO of the independent NBCUniversal.

“This partnership brings NBCUniversal’s world-class content and iconic franchises to YouTube’s unparalleled scale and global platform,” Cavanagh said in a statement. “We’re excited to further deepen our relationship with YouTube through a collaboration that reflects our strategy of partnering with industry leaders to drive sustainable growth for NBCUniversal.”

“We’re thrilled to expand our partnership with NBCUniversal and redefine what modern entertainment subscriptions look like for consumers,” said Neil Mohan, CEO of YouTube. This will make it easier than ever for our members to discover and watch all of our content.” All the premium content they love in one place. ”

Matt Strauss, chairman of NBCUniversal Media Group, added, “With this agreement, Peacock will accelerate the next phase of growth and drive long-term value for our business by serving millions of YouTube Premium subscribers. Combined with the YouTube TV extension, this agreement will open the door to new ways for viewers to choose where and how they watch, and to discover, access and deepen engagement with NBCUniversal’s industry-leading content.”

“This partnership with NBCUniversal is a great example of how we can grow YouTube’s subscription business with key partners,” said Mary Ellen Coe, YouTube’s chief business officer. “By bringing Peacock to YouTube Premium, we will offer our members an incredible lineup of content while connecting them to the creator ecosystem and cultural moments that fans can only see on YouTube. Together, we will expand NBCU’s content presence on YouTube and build a sustainable growth engine for both companies, collaborating across streaming distribution, advertising and live sports production.”
