An eyewitness told People magazine that Yarmosky was “whispering in her ear and she was laughing. They seemed very at ease and there was a smile on her face all night.”
The source added, “They sat together during the movie and at one point she rested her head on his shoulder. They looked so cute.”
A few days later, Holmes and Yarmosky were photographed hugging each other as they walked to dinner in New York City.
People magazine reported in late July that Yarmosky was Holmes’ boyfriend.
A source confirmed to People on July 22 that Holmes and Yarmosky were dating, and the publication referred to Holmes as her boyfriend. “Katie has always been attracted to creative people,” a source said. “She loves being around people who are passionate about their work. Yarmosky received his BA from New York City’s School of Visual Arts in 2010 and has spent more than a decade exploring themes such as aging, memory, identity, and the passage of time through his artwork.
His paintings have been exhibited at institutions such as the Brooklyn Museum, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, Guild Hall in East Hampton, and Bergdorf Goodman’s Fifth Avenue Window.
His grandparents were muses for his work.
Some of Yarmosky’s best-known works center around his grandparents, who have been the subject of his paintings for more than a decade. They were his muses as he explored aging in his work.
Speaking at the School of Visual Arts in 2016, Yarmosky reflected on why he has always been drawn to the subject.
“The art that speaks to me the most is personal,” he said. “For me, it’s not about conventional beauty. In our society, we don’t celebrate getting older. We celebrate youth, but it’s inevitable that everyone gets older. So why can’t we celebrate the entire life cycle?”
In a 2013 interview with Artnet, he explained what he hoped viewers would see in the Elder Kinder series. “I wanted to bring out that inner youthful side that everyone has as they get older,” he said.
He also talked about how his work has evolved beyond physical aging to become more emotional.
“For the last two shows, we worked primarily with grandparents, but also used them as stand-ins for more universal concepts. The difference with this show is that we’re focusing more on grandparents on an intimate level.”
Asked how he feels about growing older, Yarmosky replied, “No one should want to stay young forever. No one should want to enjoy everything in life.”
She added: “We shouldn’t limit ourselves to just one idea of beauty; we should embrace it all.”
His career includes exhibitions throughout the United States and abroad.
His work has been exhibited in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Paris, and Brussels.
Earlier this year, his solo exhibition “Time Has Many Faces” opened at Guild Hall in East Hampton, exploring many of the same themes that have defined his career.
In 2025, Bergdorf Goodman featured the portrait series “Timeless Women in New York” in the iconic Fifth Avenue Department Store window.
Speaking to WWD about the project, Yarmosky talked about how fashion shapes the personality of her portraits.
“I am inspired by the overlap between costume and fashion; how a dress can convey personal style while also creating individuality.”
“The right clothing gives models the courage to reveal themselves and express their identity and individuality. Each portrait reveals a timeless woman reflected in fashion, revealing a New York-ness.”
He has been selected for the 2026 Tribeca Festival Artist Awards Program.
Earlier this year, Yarmosky was one of 10 artists selected for Chanel and Tribeca Festival’s annual artist awards program.
The initiative commissions original works from contemporary artists and presents them to winning filmmakers during the festival.
