Three new cast members have been added to Apple TV’s upcoming Monarch: Legacy of Monsters spinoff.
Variety has confirmed that Corey Stoll (Imperfect Women, Proper, Billions), Ralph Ineson (The Witch, Fantastic Four: First Steps) and Nyasha Hatendi (Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials, Casual) will star in the new series, which was originally announced for December 2025.
They will be joined by series lead Wyatt Russell, who reprises his role as Leigh Shaw, as well as Millie Brady and Pilou Asbaek. The exact details of the character outside of the show are being kept secret.
Mr. Stoll is represented by Suskin/Karshan Management, UTA and SRDA Law. Ineson is repped by Gordon, French and Gersh. Hatendi is repped by The Artists Partnership, Principal Entertainment, Granderson Des Rochers and Gingham PR.
The show’s logline states, “The series tells the story of Colonel Lee Shaw (Russell), an American operative who goes on a secret mission behind enemy lines to stop the Soviet Union from unleashing a terrifying new Titan in 1984, big enough to destroy the United States and change the course of the Cold War.”
Joby Harrold is writing, executive producing and showrunning through his Safehouse Pictures. Harold currently has an overall deal with series producer Legendary Entertainment and is developing multiple MonsterVerse shows. Safehouse’s Tori Tunnell will also executive produce alongside Russell, Andy Goddard, Kyle Bradstreet, Jim Scotchdepaul, Max Borenstein, Chris Black and Alex Borden. JD Dillard will serve as director and executive producer. Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita will serve as executive producers on behalf of Toho Corporation, the owner of the Godzilla character. Toho has licensed the legendary rights to Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.
Deadline first reported the casting.
